EVENT: The Art of Putting a Room Together

The first in a series of Interior Design Masterclasses organised by the Design Collective. The series will focus on learning the tricks of the trade directly from industry experts, who will share their knowledge, experience and creative processes.

The Art of Putting a Room Together will be hosted by Flora Gossage, founder of Studio FIG, and internationally acclaimed furniture designer Hamrei.

Flora is a textile expert who worked at Colefax & Fowler for many years before establishing herself as an interior designer in London and, more recently, Lisbon.

Hamrei worked for many years as an interior designer under the exceptional guidance of Pierre Yovanovitch before moving into collectible furniture design in Lisbon, where he established his renowned brand.

Together, they will explore how to put together a cohesive interior scheme, from choosing colours and fabrics to selecting furniture, with a focus on scale, proportions and materials.

We will provide a selection of fabric samples so that participants can experiment and create their own schemes during the session.

The event will take place at DAM, Hamrei's own studio in Marvila, Lisbon, at 7 pm on Wednesday, 11 November 2026. The address will be provided by email after booking.
